United States Grand Prix 2000 Photos

Mercedes Benz

Mercedes-Benz: Mercedes, and later Mercedes-Benz, has had a storied history at the Brickyard. Ralph DePalma won with one in 1915 and came so close in 1912 when he and his riding mechanic ended up pushing the car across the line one lap short. Mercedes-Benz came back to winning at the speedway as an engine manufacturer in the 1990s. Over in Europe, the marquee came and went, dominating various periods of Grand Prix and sports car racing.
