You have meandered your way to this web site through one means or another, and the obvious question has popped up. What is Deep Throttle? The name sounds kind of, umm, well you know. Or, maybe it has to do with the man who helped leak secrets to bring down the Nixon Presidency. More importantly, who is Deep Throttle?

Well, we've been around awhile now. Started out in the beginning of 1999. Since then, we have grown quite a bit. We've also changed, but the core purpose of Deep Throttle has not wavered.

Deep Throttle brings you hardcore opinions of the racing world that penetrate areas that others don't want to touch. We concentrate on whatever series is worth our attention which is capable of providing real racing, which is becoming rarer and rarer each day. That used to be the Champ Car World Series. Now, it may include the American Le Mans Series, Formula 1, or the minor open wheel series.

Our feature component are the Thoughts that Deep Throttle writes after each race. In between races, you can enjoy our hard hitting essays, or our unique feature, debunking myths, where we once and for all put to rest many of the falsehoods and urban legends that exist in auto racing.

Today, we do it with more folks who share our vision. People like , whose Uncensored Champ Car Commentary has been very popular on the Internet. And very politically incorrect. But, we wouldn't have it any other way, which is probably why his cyberspace travels eventually landed him here.

Then there is our West Coast Editor, , a.k.a. Blonde #1. Lisa pulls no punches in her race diaries, and makes no bones about pointing out the silliness and stupidity in the racing world. Lisa's husband, , is our West Coast Photo Editor. They are a perfect couple, having mastered the "race kiss" — eyes glued to the track with their lips just brushing each other's.

We also have (Blonde #2), our crack interviewer who also approaches her work from a fan's perspective, which is the way we like it here, as that is one of the main visions of Deep Throttle. Another contributor is , who has seemingly become our official photographer for the SCCA Valvoline Runoffs.

We still have the tried and true. , our editor, continues to write his tell-it-like-it-is essays, plays photographer, and runs the history section. , is responsible for keeping everything going as well as writing various essays, including this one. Finally, we have one of the best photographers in the business, our East Coast Photo Editor, .

We also accept guest writers, though as of now, we really can't pay anything. However, if you would like to see your name up in (cyber)lights, with a proposal and what category it belongs in.

On the entertainment side, we have the renown Shigeaki Hattori Scorecard. We also have a featured photo along with an index of all our photo galleries, as well as the featured book and the featured video where you can purchase the selected book and video from Amazon.com.

Lastly, we have an extensive history section that in some ways is its own standalone web site. It explores all aspects of racing history in an objective manner. Even if you don't agree with Deep Throttle, we think you will enjoy the history section. At least give it a look see.
