1913: Harry Knight and his riding mechanic, Milton Michael, killed on lap 111.
1916: Driver Gil Anderson seriously injured and his riding mechanic, Bert Shields, killed
on lap 85.
1919: Drivers agreed to purse of 2/3 of the gate after deduction of $10,000. Winner's
share was six cents.
1930: Only championship race held on Cleveland-Akron track.
1947: Race shortened by 10 laps due to rain.
1983-Present (Mid-Ohio): Race start is on the back straight, so the actual distance is approximately

1984: Sullivan won by two laps over second place Chip Ganassi.
1990 (Mid-Ohio): Chicane leading into keyhole no longer used.
