Featured Question

In Deep Throttle's Postseason Thoughts, it was mentioned that perhaps one of the reasons for waning TV ratings is that there are too many races, and the casual fan, not able to keep up, instead throws his hands up and gives up trying to follow the sport. Do you agree or disagree that a too long season hurts CART trying to attract/retain new fans because of this saturation theory?

Isn't it funny how ABC/ESPN are showing 20 out of 22 races live this year according to your CART schedule? I think its great that Fox took NASCAR off their hands, now we get the races we want, when we want them, LIVE!!!!! THANKS FOX.

I disagree that the racing fan can't follow all of the races. How many out there (and you know who you are) tape all the races and play them over in the winter months? Personally I'd watch CART if it was on every Sunday and still not get tired of it.

No!!!!! A longer season is much harder on the teams, their budget and crew members it is great for the fans. The only problem I see is falling into the football season.

It pisses me off the way ESPN/ABC treated CART last year, hopefully with FOX taking NASCAR off their hands ESPN/ABC can devote 100% of their time to CART like it was in the past, instead of cuting it short to go to a freaking golf game

It's not so much the number of races as it is the coverage and the marketing of it. CART would do well to buy an extra half hour or and hour to have a pre-race recap and post race celebrations.
